THE SAME PROCESSING PROGRAM IS AVAILABLE ON EITHER COMPUTER ..... ANALOG SOURCES... THE ESSENTIAL DATA SENT TO THE COMPUTER FROM THE CAT SOLEUS PREPARATION INCLUDES: . THE SYSTOLIC AND DIASTOLIC VALUES OF AORTIC BLOOD PRESSURE. . THE AREA UNDER A MUSCLE RESPONSE CURVE. . THE CURRENT HEART RATE. TRANSDUCERS ATTACHED TO THE ANIMAL PREPARATION ARE ATTACHED TO SANBORN AMPLIFIERS WHICH OUTPUT TO THE MULTICHANNEL ANALOG CHART RECORDERS. OUTPUT SIGNALS REPRESENTING BLOOD PRESSURE AND MUSCLE RESPONSE ARE FED TO A CARDIOTACH AND GATED INTEGRATOR RESPECTIVELY. THESE HARDWARE UNITS IN TURN OUTPUT ANALOG SIGNALS REPRESENTING HEART RATE AND AREA. A UNIQUE CIRCUIT DESIGN, THE PEAK DETECTOR, CAPTURES INDIVIDUAL SYSTOLIC AND DIASTOLIC VALUES AND STORES THE ANALOG LEVEL.
