                                    FORMCV











         FORMCV is a program to convert FORM's .DC files  to  PRINTR's
    .RO  files.   The  conversions  are  given  below  for  each  FORM
    command.  To invoke FORMCV, just enter "R FORMCV" to the  Keyboard
    Monitor's dot:  

                     .R FORMCV

    At  this  point,  enter an output filename and an input file name.
    If no extension is given on the output file name,  FORMCV  appends
    the  .RO extension which PRINTR uses.  The assumed input extension
    is FORM's .DC extension.  

         There  are  two  option  switches  allowed  by  FORMCV.    /A
    generates  the  abbreviated  PRINTR  command  instead  of the full
    spelling of the PRINTR command.  /C  generates  a  PRINTR  comment
    line  for  each  of  the  FORM  formatting  commands.   The PRINTR
    comment line begins with .! and is followed by  the  FORM  command
    if possible.  

         Before  outputting  anything,  FORMCV  outputs  the following
    line:  

             .FLAG CAPITALIZE;.FLAG FIRSTCAPITALIZE;.TABS RELATIVE

    This allows the flag  characters  "  and  '  to  be  used  by  the
    conversion  program.   Following  are the conversions from FORM to
    PRINTR commands.  

         The user is cautioned to examine the output file and then  to
    edit  the  output  file  further if necessary.  We have found that
    most conversions are sufficent to run the .RO file through  PRINTR
    which  will yield the same output as the original .DC file through
    FORM.  The only exceptions are use of the ^R, ^/, and ^%  commands
    which may possibly yield peculiar results in the conversion.
