     Dear Mr. Butch,

Sorry for the delay - I was on vacation and had to get caught up
on other things. I also had to edit our documentation files to
make the penciled in changes from our documentation so you could
     get fresh documentation.

Unfortunately I am unable to send you the sources to the major
components of the FORTRAN II system (FORT, SABR, and LOADER). My
boss would rather keep control of the sources. However, copies of
all save-image files and some other goodies are included. If you
do experience problems with the major components, please let me
know ASAP and I will take care of it.

I assume you got the stuff from Van Zee. I have only a vague idea
what versions of programs you have, so I'm sending you fresh
copies. The 4 floppies (and their backups) contain:

(*) Sources and binaries for our XLIB8 and FTNLIB.
(*) Complete FORTRAN II system + LIBCAT utility + DIAG source.
     (*) Documentation.

Our SABR requires 16K to run. I expanded a bunch of the tables to
get around some problems that were created because our compiler
caused some of SABRs tables to overflow.

Our LOADER reserves an additional page in field zero to handle the
expanded external symbol table. It also automatically references
libraries that you don't have. Patch locations 100-117 to contain
the 6-bit text of your libraries.

Our FORTK needs 16K for all the features to work.

The FORT documentation contains many references to stuff we have
here at HRL (extra libraries, etc.). Some are embedded pretty
deep, so rather than try to edit it, I am giving you the whole
thing. The FORTX documentation describes some new stuff in FORTX.

Drop me a line if you have any suggestions or comments.

     Sincerely,

     John Van Essen
