Punched cards and the PDP-8

The Vintage Computer Federation hosted the Vintage Computer Festival East 2019.

See punched card artifacts and try BASIC/FORTRAN programming with mark-sense cards, or punch cards yourself with a hand punch! Cards will be processed by a DEC PDP-8 minicomputer

This was pretty much a repeat of the 2014 exhibit, See it for more information

I was loaned the blue Wright Line 2629-29 punch the attendee is using for the show by Mike Loewen. You turned the knob to select the character to punch then pressed the punch button. It punched the proper hole(s) and printed the letter at the top of the card. My Wright Line 2600 punch you manually needed to press one or more keys at the same time to punch the desired holes and it couldn't print what was punched.

Also did a talk on using SIMH. VCF Youtube video
